Elsie Netherton (she/they) is a clinical intern joining DBT Associates for the fall, winter and spring. She is expected to graduate from the University of Minnesota in May 2027 with her master’s in social work with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. Elsie is supervised weekly by Cati Johanneck, MSW, LICSW, who is a Linehan Board Certified Clinician.
Elsie graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in English but has since pivoted towards work in the mental health field. Last year she interned in St. Paul as a school social worker, providing direct mental health support to students aged 12-18. Elsie also worked in and around special education systems and has a passion for supporting neurodivergence. Elsie is a member and advocate of the LGBTQ+ community and works to apply social work with an anti-oppressive perspective. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, drawing, knitting, and reading books in her hammock by the Mississippi River.
